Problem
The concrete floor in the production plant showed signs of contamination from fats, which interfered with the adhesion of the overlayment and could compromise the long-term performance of the resin flooring system. Chemical components in the lubricants also degraded the substrate, posing future risk for the facility.
Solution
A comprehensive analysis was undertaken to assess the extent of contamination within the substrate. This diagnostic procedure included the extraction of a sample, revealing a crucial concern that required immediate action.
Stonhard were employed by the client to restore the production facility floor to its optimal condition. A meticulous approach was employed, incorporating thorough degreasing and shot blasting procedures. Stonhard's specialised Penetrating Primer was applied to the concrete floor by their installers, offering the client the confidence of a complete turnkey solution—utilising high-quality products installed by skilled and trained operatives.
Following this crucial primer application, the iconic Stonclad GS system took centre stage. This all-encompassing flooring system not only tackled contamination concerns but also addressed slipping issues by incorporating a textured non-slip finish, elegantly finished in Steel Grey. The outcome is not just a pristine floor but a surface that seamlessly blends aesthetics with functionality, featuring easy cleaning attributes.
