Polish Food and Beverage Giant Enhances Facility Safety with Project Floor Renovation

Since its establishment in 1998 a factory situated in Tomaszów Mazowiecki, Poland has been in operation manufacturing confectionary products.
Problem
Recent safety concerns emerged due to insufficient slip resistance on the factory floor, leading to minor accidents among machinery operators. Additionally, the challenge of cleaning dirt that had built-up between the tile joints compounded the issue.
Solution
Stonhard Poland was tasked with conducting a comprehensive site survey and recommending the most suitable flooring solution to address the client's issues. Samples of the proposed flooring solutions were provided and tested to guarantee optimal performance and safety. This approach enabled the client to choose the solution that best met their unique project requirements.
To meet the customer's requirements for a vibrant, non-slip surface finish, a choice was made to utilise a range of durable and high-performance resin flooring products. These selections, including Stonclad UT, Stonseal UT7 and Stonflex MP7 were all manufactured by Stonhard at their Alghero plant in Italy.
During the installation phase of the contract the existing tiles were broken out and safety disposed of by Stonhard’s in-house installation team. One of the unique challenges of the project was the presence of packaging machines, which occupied over 70% of the installation area and couldn't be relocated. The Stonhard floor was meticulously installed around these machines during the renovation process and handed back to the client within the agreed timeframe.
The successful completion of the Project not only enhances safety for operators working with production machinery but also improves overall efficiency and cleanliness within the facility. The client continues to demonstrate its commitment to employee well-being through such initiatives.
